Directions to the Billy Bordy Theater

Billy Bordy Theater

Billy Bordy Theater at Emerson College

 216 Tremont Street
 Boston,   MA   02116
 USA

By CAR
If traveling on Routes 1, 3, or I-95, either North or South, follow signs to Boston, via I-93 to Exit 26-Storrow Drive/Cambridge. Take Storrow Drive to the Copley/Back Bay exit (on the left). At the traffic signal turn left onto Beacon Street then a quick right onto Arlington Street. Follow Arlington Street along the Boston Public Garden to the fifth traffic light and turn left onto Stuart Street. On Stuart Street you will pass the Motor Mart and Ramada Hotel parking garages. At the next light, turn left onto Charles Street and you will pass the Massachusetts Transportation Building and Boston Common parking garages. We recommend you park at one of these facilities and walk to the Boardy Theatre.
If you are coming from points West via Route 2, follow signs for Boston and Soldiers Field Road. Soldiers Field Road becomes Storrow Drive East. Travel on Storrow Drive to the Downtown Exit (right lane). At the traffic signal turn left onto Beacon Street then a quick right onto Arlington Street. Follow the directions from Arlington Street above.

If you are traveling from points West via the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90), take Exit 22-Prudential/Copley Square. Stay in the right lane for the Copley Square Exit (it comes up quickly!). Continue straight on Stuart Street through four traffic lights. You will pass the Motor Mart and Ramada Hotel parking garages. At the next light, turn left onto Charles Street and you will pass the Massachusetts Transportation Building and Boston Common parking garages. We recommend you park at one of these facilities and walk to the Boardy Theatre.

Parking
Emerson College does not have private parking facilities. Since street parking is limited, we suggest that you use one of the city's parking garages. All are a short walk to the Boardy Theatre. There is a public parking lot directly behind the theater (take LEFT on side street before theater, parking lot will be to the left.  The Back Bay Garage is located on Clarendon Street, the Motor Mart and Radisson Hotel Garages are located on Stuart Street and the Boston Common Garage is located on Charles Street.

Taxicabs
Taxis are usually the easiest way to get around town and are much less expensive than renting a car. From the airport to the Emerson campus, the fare will be about $20 including tip. Around town, taxis run about $5-10 for short trips. Since Emerson does not provide parking facilities, we would not advise renting a car in Boston, as parking tends to be expensive and/or problematic.

By PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Emerson is easily accessible by public transportation, and using the MBTA subway is a reliable and cost-efficient alternative to taxis. Bostonians refer to the MBTA as simply the "T." The web address for the subway is www.mbta.com

Green Line: Take the Green Line to Boylston Station. Exit the station and walk to the corner of Tremont and Boylston Streets. Cross Boylston (towards the Dunkin' Donuts) then cross Tremont (towards Starbucks).  Turn right and follow Tremont towards 216.

Red Line: Take the Red Line to Park Street Station. Go upstairs and transfer to the Green Line to Boylston Station. Follow the Green Line directions above.

Blue Line: Take the Blue Line to Government Center Station. Go upstairs and transfer to the Green Line to Boylston Station. Follow the Green Line directions above.

By TRAIN
Boston's South Station is served by Amtrak and MBTA Commuter Rails originating from west and south of Boston. Once inside the station, look for stairs to the subway and follow the Red Line directions above. The web address for the Amtrak is www.amtrak.com.
