Colorist and Adobe Certified Instructor Simon Walker will explore how color grading techniques are used in film, and will provide practical demonstrations how to create moods, suggest genres, and to inform the audience of the motivations of on-screen protagonists, using Premiere Pro CS6 and Red Giant's Magic Bullet Suite of plug-ins.

ABOUT AL MOONEY

Al Mooney (@al_mooney) has extensive technical, sales and marketing experience in the media industry. As product manager for Adobe Premiere Pro software, Mooney is responsible for defining, delivering, and supporting the overall feature set and functionality. Earlier, Mooney was the UK senior business development manager for video and broadcast at Adobe, providing technical workflow consultation for top broadcast accounts in the U.K. In that role, he oversaw the redevelopment of Adobe’s video VAR channel, a network of expert resellers and service providers for the Media and Entertainment industry.

Mooney joined Adobe in 2009, after spending two years at Apple as the U.K. Pro Video business development manager. There he was responsible for the communication and go-to-market strategy of video solutions for the U.K. market, working with resellers and customers.

Before Apple, Mooney was European sales specialist at Digidesign, a division of Avid Technology. In this role, Mooney was responsible for the communication of high-end solutions into multiple territories, and managed technical communication between European specialists and engineers in the U.S. He also held earlier positions at Digidesign, including post-production product specialist, EMEA product specialist and marketing representative.

Mooney graduated with honors from the University of Surrey, Guildford, with a Bachelor of Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister).

ABOUT SIMON WALKER
Simon WalkerSimon Walker (@SimonWalker) is a freelance trainer, and has been shooting, editing, designing, grading and producing short-films, adverts, interactive programs and motion graphics sequences since the early 1990s. He has also published a range of grading presets for Red Giant Software including the recent "Master Artists" which improve the look of video footage by applying the coloring and lighting techniques of the world's most influential painters. He is an
Adobe Certified Instructor for Premiere Pro, an Instructor for the International Colorist Academy (ICA), and has extensive training certifications in a range of creative software applications. He authors and runs multiple training courses for industry professionals using Adobe Production Premium, including Visual Storytelling for Editors, Video Optimisation and Compression, and Shooting for the Web, and trains broadcast production staff at BBC, ITV, Turner, Bloomberg, Sony, and Hogarth Worldwide, as well as at numerous media agencies and TV production companies. In addition, Simon often presents at industry events and at editing user groups around the UK and Europe, such as IBC, BVE, CPUG SuperMeets, WEFCPUG, and UKFCPUG, where he demonstrates timesaving editing tips and techniques. Simon is a regular contributor to MacWorld Magazine and regularly uploads free editing and grading tutorials and tips to his website: www.simonwalkerfreelance.com.
